    • Field prep: Plough after previous crop, 2–3 harrowings; ensure weed‑free seedbed with adequate moisture. For soil pests, mix Endosulfan 5% or BHC 10% at 25 kg/ha in soil before sowing.
    • Sowing window: Early varieties mid‑Nov; medium varieties late‑Nov to early‑Dec; late varieties up to late‑Dec. Ideal germination temp ~12–20°C.
